Totally random I guess, but I'm watching Ace of Cakes and I just feel like making cakes. Not just everyday cakes but actually making like the Barbie doll cakes, and cakes that look like things. I think I must be going stir crazy.

I watch that show and love it. I love making cakes too. Nothing like any of those though lol. I'm not EVEN that creative. 

I think I'm going to go out tomorrow and get the ingredients to make some fondant, butter cream and cake. Where would I get icing coloring around here? And a fondant smoother...?

I just buy the fondant at walmart, its like playdoo for grown ups...hahaha....walmart also has a few wilton's products...like tint and the smoother....

there is 2 sizes...I usually get the big one for $18..and you can do a few cakes with it depending on size. I'll try to post a pic...keep in mind...I only do it for fun...hahah...I'm not very good....ahahahah

Hope these work.. =) This is a cake I just made! =) So, so cute! It's a chocolate cream cake with strawberry buttercream icing... double layer 8" and a double layer 6" cake. Made for a 3 YO girls birthday party. =)

How did you do the coloring of the fondant? Or did you use pre-colored? 

How did you do the coloring of the fondant? Or did you use pre-colored?  It's just food coloring spray and the icing coloring... I use the paste not the gel... it makes for richer color than the gel colors. I also use the Wilton fondant. I have used the Satin Ice, but it's not my favorite--both in flavor & texture. If you can get it to work for you, it makes for a REALLY smooth look, but it IS quite expensive! Hope that helps.=)

Whens your husbands birthday? i think she told me March was the earliest.
