Is it just me, or does anyone else not understand why people move and suddenly have to get rid of their pets? I mean, is it really that hard to think ahead a few years and think if you will ever move?? If you really loved your pet, you would just shell out the money it takes to fly them with you or drive with it! Its not that hard when it comes to what I think is a "family member"!
This was already discussed(sp) and unfortunately people are going to do it alot. It is very very sad but alot of peeps out there dont care one bit to do this to animals... I had my dogs for 6 1/2 yrs and plan to keep them for yrs on.
I could NEVER get rid of my pets. They're a part of my family that could never be replaced. I don't even have people watch them When we go back home. I shell out the extra money to fly them w me. I made a commitment to them When I brought them home And I always honor my commitments! I wish I could adopt every unwanted pet.
I must admit that it is pretty difficult to travel and/or make arrangements for pets when moving.. so I can kind of understand when "lazy" or simply people who cant afford it, decided to give up there pets when they move... it is just really sad for the animal.
we are about to pay 200 bucks to ship our cat home.. i dont know what we would do if we couldnt afford it.
i can't stand it. if you're too lazy or broke or whatever the excuse is to take them with you & make the proper arrangements then you shouldn't have them at all. it's simply pathetic!
It isn't hard to move with a pet... It's called PLANNING AHEAD! There are plenty of hotels that allow animals! You plan your route and plan where you stay. I just thought that was common sense...
Well, I think they did it just to piss you off. Im sure they were thinking of your feelings when deciding on what to do with their pets. Im pretty sure this has caused extreme stress on your part, and for your well-being, I think you need to let it go. Its not worth the anguish. Get over it!

Yeah, I mean we adopted our dog knowing full well that we will be moving a bunch for the rest of our little dog's life, and we know the commitment it is to drive or fly with her and definitely are willing to do it!
Do you have $750 and dishes and kennels and land and a building permit to do all that. also, the money is to apply for the permit...doesn't mean you are going to get it though. Me and my husband are looking to buy land to start this for pitbulls soon. ALOT of paperwork, lol
Its just overly discussed. Nothing new. Everyone seems to just complain about it. At least the owners are looking for new owners vs just leaving the animal or dropping it off at the shelter.
Honestly, it doesn't bother me if people want to rehome their pets. I'd rather them do that than keep them when they don't want them and won't take good care of them.
It does not bother me so much when people re home! But some people have one add for re homing and another saying they are looking for a puppy....annoying!
Its not just that they rehome pets, I don't find a problem. I understand sometimes circumstances just force you into that kind of situation. But I would just think that people think about moving ahead of time, especially those of us connected with the military, that a pet isn't like a couch, and you can just sell it when the time comes that its an inconvenience to move it...Just makes me sad. I could never leave my pet behind.
..I cant wait till the day we can start claiming our pets on the incom tax...cuz Sh!t I spend tons of money on these little nuggets,, they might as well be kids!!!
Right, of course. I mean, my human family will always take first place. And of course all people don't feel like that about their furry friend, but when you're like me and don't have kids yet, they're kind of like your babies, you know? (not that I'm overboard and ACTUALLY treat them like human babies lol)
