I think I broke another vacuum! I've cleaned everything, even cut all the hair out and the red (need to empty) button is still on. It's also leaving clumps of animal hair everywhere. Won't suck the dirt off the screens either, only leaves clumps. Help!

This is my 5th one since last April. This one actually lasted past my 90 day return period. 

I'm curious to know what type of vacuums you've bought. That seems excessive.

I've had the same vacuum since 2005 & it's still as great as the day we bought it.

I've only had to replace the bags/belts. 

This one is a Hoover Pet Plus. The others were Bissell, Eureka & Hoover all from Walmart. Prior to those I had a good one from QVC that lasted years but that was before I lived with a cheapo!

I'm not cheap, but I refused to pay the price for a Kirby.

Hubs saw past the price tag & bought it anyway while I was at work. This was one time I'm glad he didn't listen to me.

I can't imagine cleaning without it.

Unfortunately (sp?) I am still a beginner. I can take apart and declog and clean funk off the spinny thing and change a belt. Can you call Hoover?

You've got a clog somewhere between the beater bar and where it dumps into the canister/bag. I take a wire clothes hanger & undo it, take the end and gently feed it into the vacuum cleaner (I start from where it dumps into the canister & work down). When I find the clog I try pushing thru it and breaking it up with the clothes hanger. That usually does the trick. I then use the shop-vac to make sure that it's out of there. Cat hair is the worst for this. You'll be surprised at how much you end up pulling out of the vacuum.
