Star Cards vs Credit Card? Anyone have a Star Card and want to tell me that perks. I've heard of them but never had one. We have a regular credit card and I thought about cutting it up and switching to a Star Card.... Hummmmmm...? 

Star can only be used at military installations. A regular credit card can be used for anywhere AND you can get cash advances whereas you can't with Star.

Best bet - don't have either - use cash. :)

You cannot use it at the commissary. Depending on whether you get the clothing star card or the retail star card will determine a lot. The clothing side gives you credit with no interest on it for only items in the cash sales area (stuff that would be considered part of his uniform or gear). The retail is high interest and can be used at the PX, class 6, Marine marts, home store and most convenience foods on base.

That's because the Commissary is not MCCS retail. It is DFAS. Different deal.

Can you use the star card for gas at the gas station on base?? 

if at the pump has this symbol, then yes

if you want a first experienced answer, yes they do because one of my cards is a STAR CARD and i've used it at the Base pump.
