Congress is trying to merge Your DeCA commissary with AAFES. If that happens the days of paying for your groceries at cost will be gone, look to have a 30% markup! Let your congress person know you do not want this to happen! Trying to pass it by Thanksgiving!!!! We have two senators: Feinstein Boxer Tell them!!!
So we went to commissary prices and omg! The prices are already rising. Something I paid $1.50 for last week was 2.69 this week. I could have cried!! Just abt everything was more expensive, except the nutri grain bars. I spent an obscene amt of money. So depressed :(
That much though??? Thats ridiculous. I will go back next week to see if its back to $1.50 then. I didnt even realize it was payday weekend until we saw the crowds. I usually go in between payday but with my inlaws here it got screwed up.
Price changes go in on the 1st and 16th of every month. Some are sales so the price of .some items for a down and.some go up. You can't check the commisary website for more info if u have questions on " price increases before pay day'' there is a whole section devoted to just this rumor.
i noticed this like in the middle of last week we spend $450 but we had literally not a single thing in our home after being gone for so long! :/ that is a record for us and i hope to NEVER go past it again or near that number for that matter!
yes we had nothing but a box of like some muffin mix they hubby likes and a can or 2 of dog food lol some cereal boxes i got rid of lol the rest was i kid you not..CLEARED cabinets lol but luckily our deep freezer our fidge and our cabinets are now full :) thank the Lord :)
I went to the SpouseBuzz today on base and there were some really nice gentlemen there from Saveourbenefit.org (check it out to petition the crap going on with the comissaries and px to keep them alive and on our bases. fed govt is discussing their removal!)
I am linking the organization to this thread so they can see first hand the public view and our rationalization on the commissaries prices, specifically 29 Palms. Hope this will get us some change out here and for everyone.
Check it out if preserving our shopping benefits is of interest to you!
BTW, I just went to the comm last sunday and a certain jerky snack I buy was 1.44 and TODAY, the fallowing Saturday, it was .88 cents! Doesn't seem like a manufacturer markup when that same fluctuation happens every other week. :/
