Hey everyone,

There seems to have been a lot of robberies around the Sunnyvale, Sunnyslope, Bagley area by Adobe Rd. Has anyone in this area seen anything suspicious or noticed anything odd? Our house was one of the ones hit. Cops seems to not care and just brush it off as "kids". Any help is appreciated.

Mari (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

I know last night I was having a conversation with a delivery person (when he delivered food to the house), who said he overheard some wacko at Circle K talking about robberies in the area either yesterday or the day before. He was sharing that with me, because we're not too far from Two Mile and Adobe. Not sure if the wacko was talking about existing robberies or something he actually knew about, maybe the Circle K folks might know who he is and they can track him down to see what he may or may not know.

that's a help...we lost just about everything and most of the stuff took us years of savings to buy quality stuff just to have it gone. the cops did follow foot prints to apartments behind us. im still trying to figure out how NO ONE saw two people carrying a 46inch flat screen tv across yards and not think twice about it. we have an idea of where it went, just no proof.

What time of day did this happen?

years ago nikelow I lived in 29Palms APTS [off Bagley] before 1998 and my place was broke into /do not be surprised if they came from there [part of the reason I moved from it in 97]..I would not be surprised of that whole neighborhood. When I moved in there in 1989 it was a fairly decent area.Went down hill in the later 90s.

Mr Lance Corporal --- 13 years ago -

Two pistols loaded and ready for any low life wanting to step foot in my mansion. Well... if they make it passed my dog. :)

There has been a lot of kids coming around selling those stupid magazines. My hubs thinks they are scoping houses out.

Exactly! These "sales" have really increased lately. My dog goes nuts on them so hopefully that scares them away. If my house gets robbed though. I got all my receipts and great insurance, I wouldn't be too heartbroken. All the good stuff is in storage anyways!
I feel sorry for the people who are going through this.

joe --- 13 years ago -

figures they maybe scoping out homes ..Can anyone be true and honest these trying times for all? No but they got to make it difficult for us..The mags they claim to sell the mag publishers should check out what they are doing then.

. --- 13 years ago -

Well I heard they are climbing through windows and snatching your people up so I suggest you hide your kids, hide your wives and your husbands cus they raping everybody out here too.

But you or your loved ones lives aren't insured..So don't be too calm and collected about being robbed....Always be ready for the unexpected and be PREPARED.

And remember, INSURANCE wont bring YOU or your loved ones back if someone has a gun.

I live 1 block North of Oasis Elem. School and break ins seem to run in spurts on my street. Lately it's been people breaking into vehicles. Around Halloween time one evening someone came into my front yard and attempted to get into my car, while my 18 year old son and his friend sat on my front porch. The car alarm went off & the boys jumped up and ran to the car just in time to see someone running away from it & jumping into a small truck & taking off. This was before 9 pm mind you.

In my opinion, one of the best things you can do as far as break ins go is to get to know your neighbors. Introduce yourself if you haven't already. A simple "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening", or a wave with a smile goes a long way. I'm not saying you have to be new best friends, just open up the lines of communication. Neighbors tend to look out for one another alot more when they know each other.

On our street, those of us that have been here for 15+ years all know each other. Have each others home & cell numbers. And if someone is going to be gone, we let the one who lives closest to us know. When we notice someone new walking down our street (that's acting a little different)we all have a tendency to look at them and say Hello. This usually throws them off, but lets them know that they have been seen, & that we would be able to give a good description of them if need be.

As far as the magazine sales people go, if they show up during the time that City Hall is open, call and report these people & where your located and they will attempt to come out and catch up with them. These sales people do not have a permit to do what they are doing within the City limits. (City Hall employee told me this)

This is how everyone is on my street. :)

Having a loaded gun won't help at all unless he/she breaks in and starts shooting. Can't just shoot at them since its considered murder or whatever they want to charge you with. It's kinda (kindly deleted) up that you can't defend yourself with a pistol against a break in. Got this info from a few cops out here...

If somebody comes in your home you do not have to just sit there and take it and let them do whatever they want but you can show them the door at least [they are on your property] ..If someone is attacking you you can defend yourself indeed. That is not illegal.I do not think the police want people to have to be doormats only.Someone that shouldn't be in your home they are in the wrong.

@Cherise, That's how a few of us are on this street. We are familiar with the neighbors across the street and our next door neighbors are fellow military so we all have each others backs. This happened at night, but anyone comes to this part of sunnyvale looking to steal anytime soon they will meet their match. Our dogs have now been retrained to bark at anyone who steps three steps up our driveway and we say hello to anyone walking down the street....well anyone other than the usual people who use our street to get to the bus stop or the dog walkers.

I did walk because a person in apartments at Bagley lives there I used to visit .I know a guy you guys might know in an apt unit named Wayne [older guy]. I think he's off Sunnyslope. He once had his dad's tools he sold me is why.

joe --- 13 years ago -

creatively if you can tell me if any odd tools you cannot replace and if I have like those I can give you .See I can be a real packrat and can spare at times.

joe --- 13 years ago -

It is funny in good sense you can hear at midnight tonight [2012] guns going off and fireworks etc etc and think I heard a bell too [sound carries out here].There must of been 12 guns I heard in a 20 minute period ,some very distant too. My dad did that few times in the big city when we were kids.In backyard.
