they found skeletal remains of a long gone race of humans that had unusual shaped cheek bones that stood out --seriously; but a disclaimer not putting down China just sharing stuff to start a thread ..China Doll you might want to look up info about this too. 

called the RedDeer Cave people in southwest China of Yunnan Province ..they liked venison which yummy I do not blame them ! 

they have those fanned-out shape facial 'cheeks' ; but resemble the natives of Australia also apparently they lived in caves in southern China cooking deer [extinct kinds] meat a lot as foods. They ,I feel, are not less human and likely a race or 'tribe' that died out as to having many descendants .I myself see it as people that left Babel in the ancient Mideast after the flood but know others have their ideas.Or left earlier even . I know they put such into leaving Africa category.There are people now near there farther south like them in some ways likely.It does not say their brain had to be really small.
