Anyone purchased a short sale home? If so how long did the process take? The Realtor warned me it could be a long process but I was stubborn. Now I'm getting impatient! I want out of this rental asap! 

I've heard it really depends on the bank. Some banks are just anxious to unload the home, other's want to hold out to see if they can get someone willing to pay a higher price. 

We purchased our Cathedral City home on a short sale and it took about 90 days; just make sure you have the loan pre-approved....so when all the banks involved give the green light..you are READY to go...Make NO major purchases,,,,ie washers, dryers, frigs..until after the loan doc's ARE SIGNED.....GOOD LUCK!!! The wait is well worth the end result!!! 

Still waiting. The pre approval was sent with the offer. So I can't get a new car in the meantime? LOL just dreaming! The bank lowered the price the days before the offer was sent so I assumed they wanted to get rid of it asap. 

How long has it been J29P? I was looking at a few short sales home here in OC, but sheesh, gotta let go of my house in 29. I don't think we will be back, no use in keeping it.
