Don't know about the 29 palms one but all the other head start programs I have seen just seem to be poorly run government funded operations. That dont produce much results. I personally would avoid them at all cost. I also have a family member who works for head start. I'm just not impressed.
I had my oldest in the Head Start in JT because the 29 was full, I hated the drive 4 days a week. At first my daughter was excited to be in school, but after a few weeks it seemed to be too many days a week for her. After we moved we found a private pre-k only 2 half days/ week. I would recommend the Little School before Head Start I have only heard good things from more than one person.
+1 Little School - we're back home, and we miss that school. Haven't been able to find anything comparable in terms of the caring environment, the education/instruction, etc.. Trying another place in a couple weeks.
i have a few friends who are teachers at the head start in 29. there is nothing wrong with that school. know many people who send their kids there. little school is also a good place. one is government funded the other is not
