We are moving around the end of December. Is it worth it to try and clean the house myself ?? How strict is housing ? We live in fairway heights. 

When we moved off base housing just walked in and had my hubs sign some papers. They didn't even look to see if we cleaned anything before they signed saying we didn't owe them any more $$.
BUT my friend did a quaters to quaters move and she said housing checked EVERYTHING in her housing to make sure it was spotless. 

You can definitly clean it yourself but you have to REALLY clean it. I would devote 5hrs of your time to it! Lincoln isnt that strick. The first time i moved out of 801 before lincoln took it over it was basically white glove. But when i moved out of another house when lincoln was doing the inspection they just looked it over. The fridge, stove and bathrooms are going to be the major things you want to make sure are perfect! I did it 7 1/2 months pregnant. You just have to dedicate some time to it. 

We just moved out of Adobe Flats, and I don't think LMH was that strict at all. When we did a quarters to quarters from 801, they practically did a white glove test.

LMH will give you a guideline. I don't see any reason you couldn't do it yourself. I spent maybe a week cleaning my house, and I definitely over cleaned. Our inspector walked through the house and looked around. 

If you simply dont have the time there are plenty of wives that will do it for under 100 dollars! 

We did a quarters to quarters move and it wasnt a big deal. The guy came during the pre-inspection and told us everything looked good, just clean it like you would any other day, and clean the carpets. We ended up having something happen the morning of the move and were rushing to finish cleaning and didnt get to mop and a few other things. The guy new we were in a hurry and told us to not worry about the rest that someone comes and cleans it again once we are gone. And we didnt have any charges. This was the end of October. Dont stress about it, they are not like they used to be. No more white gloving it. 

Dont waste your money hiring someone to come clean it for you, moving is already expensive with out the added expense.
