The Twentynine Palms Firefighters will hold their traditional annual Easter Egg hunt this Easter Sunday. Managing Editor Karl Gardner says the event is broken up by age groups...
The Twentynine Palms Firefighters and Explorers are joining together to host their Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The egg hunt begins Easter Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at the Luckie Park Little League fields. Open to children up to age seven, the little egg hunters will be placed in two age groups, walking to 3 years old and 4 to 7 years old. The kids will have the opportunity to gather hundreds of prize filled plastic eggs. Fire engines will also be on display with firefighters and fire explorers on hand to answer questions about the department and fire safety.

Yes. I believe one of the Explorers takes on that role, I know Matthew had it a few years ago, and one of the moms from the UG sent me his picture...precious.

CareBear --- 11 years ago -

Sooo... we got there at 1:15 and it was over already. Not gunna lie, I'm a little disappointed. But, now we know for next year to get there early, lol.

Mari (Mod) --- 11 years ago -

Oh wow, yeah, the people are usually showing up around 12:40-12:45 (some are there at 12:30), especially since it's a community wide event. So sorry for your little one...:-(

CareBear --- 11 years ago -

It's no big deal. We were more concerned about getting pictures with the Easter bunny than getting eggs. :)

Daniela --- 11 years ago -

We got there at like 12.40ish and stood in line waiting patiently. At started exactly at 1 and people started throwing their kids over the fence to get to the eggs. my 2 younger kids were too scared to go alone and by the time I finally made it behind the fence it was almost over. :-( So my younger ones didn't get any eggs themselves, but some kind person stopped with his child and shared his eggs! So grateful for him! Last year I even had time to take a couple pictures of them, this time it was over in like minutes :-(. But the Easter bunny, Sparky and the Firetrucks made mostly up for not getting any eggs :-)

Not trying to sound mean but dont you guys dye ur own eggs and have a easter egg hunt at home?

kElJoY --- 11 years ago -

We always do our egg hunt at home. :) We just did the EE Hunt in JT this year since big brother was playing a part in it. We hadn't actually done one of these hunts in a couple of years.

One thing I do know about them...if you want to participate, you get there BEFORE the starting time because it only takes the little kids about a minute and a half to find all the eggs lol.

I don't think my son would have much fun being the only kid. If we had another one that was old enough, we would.

Agreed, had we been at home with family it would be a whole diff story. Since we are all alone, these little events are our highlight of the holidays.

so cute..anyone else do the celery and carrot thing?

No, but that is the CUTEST idea!!! Sorta like santa and cookies. When my son is old enough to understand(he is a year old) I will def do that, so fun and cute!

CareBear --- 11 years ago -

my son had a blast with just me and the hubs...we set out celery and carrots the night before

Yeah, my son is only 14 months so he really doesn't even get the whole Easter thing, lol.

Mari (Mod) --- 11 years ago -

Okay, anyone that got pics of the bunny this year, could you "pm" me, Matt did it again this year, and I just found out...lol

CareBear --- 11 years ago -
