expirience in locating a person they have never met?

I found something washed up on the beach that contains a name. I wanna locate this gentleman to let him know I found this. I have had no luck.

I would be checking fbook and MySpace (looking for current or old pages), and doing a white pages search

white pages search

Maybe this would be the best thing. He's obviously an older gentleman. This was written in 1953!

Try going to www.spokeo.com. I've had pretty good luck with this site as far as finding family members of someone I'm looking for. It can be a little time consuming, but worth it if you find the person your looking for. Good Luck!

what did you find?

IWearHisRank --- 13 years ago -

what did you find?

Its a hard laminated article, about 3x5. It has the guys name, rank, platoon, company, battalion, and location (Parris Island SC). It says "Outpost Jan. 15, 1957" Then it says "Morning of the 24th 7:30 am, date wrote December 24, 1956"

Its kinda cool, I'm thinking he wrote it, then threw it into the ocean. It ended up here on a beach in SoCal. I'd like to find him to ask. :)

If it has all that you can search military sites for that unit.

They have them for every unit, branch, service, etc. If you need help I'd be willing to help you search.

it might be some type of funeral card, ritual or something like that. If you post it on the "what is it" forum at treasurenet they will find out. But they want a pic, they don't like answering questions without a visual.

Pretty cool! I hope you can find him or a family member!

You HAVE to come back and give us a good ending. Please. :)

Im hoping for a good ending too. But I have searched and nothing. Most places want me to pay to find someone.

Try contacting a military museum for whichever branch it is. Maybe they can help you

Au 79 --- 13 years ago -

I told you what it basically is, people put the ashes in the ocean and those cards are with the ashes I think. Post a picture of the card with the name in all than I'll post it on Tnet. no he ckecking is a hobby that sometimes we find people that lost things with their name on it
or some form of identification, class rings, dog tags, well whatever.

you would be amazed what happens when you simply google a name
