I need recommendations and numbers. I was supposed to get a body wave and cut today at the base salon, and when the girl called yesterday to confirm my appt she asked what kind of hair I had, I told her "super thick, super long" and she said that wasn't a problem, well I got there this morning and she took my hair out of the ponytail and looked at it and said "we don't have enough chemicals to do your hair, you need to reschedule for next Saturday" wtf?? Really?? I really want to get my hair done today, so any recommendations for places out in town that are good that I can try to call?
Oh. But I have heard great things about Kristi. Duece posted the number for you. Thats where Im going next, Im tired of having my hair literally chopped up!
yayaya, I know. but on base I was going to get a perm, cut and 1 product for less than the price of JUST a perm there, and like I said, that's a long drive too. lol. I'm just totally bummed, I really had my heart set on getting my hair done today. I've been looking forward to it since I made the appt (2 weeks ago) I just thought it was tacky for them to wait until I got there to tell me they can't do my hair, ESPECIALLY when I told them LAST NIGHT what kind of hair I had...ugh.
Wow that's crazy! I'd be pissed. I've never had anyone out here do anything chemical only cuts. I do have really thick hair though and these two were good. Fauna from A Fox (760) 367-9932 is great and I like Corby from Boardwalk (760) 361-2330.
so worth it in my eyes! I've been seen Kristi for a little over 2 years... NO ONE else touches my hair! every time I go in (at least 4-6 weeks) I do something a little different.. NEVER have been disappointed
I tried A Fox and Boardwalk, neither have openings today, looks like I'm going to have to wait after all. And yes, I'm very upset. I really hope they offer me a discount or something because that is just bad business right there...
I'm sure it is, but I only have $120 to spend, and that's how much just a perm is there, so I wouldn't be able to tip (which is rude) and I wouldn't be able to get my hair cut, and I wouldn't be able to buy anything (product) for my hair after my perm...
I really liked chemically dependent a lot, and a. fox. I've had my hair done at both; I went to a. fox for highlight touch ups because they're up the street from me, lol. Both are very reasonably priced and super friendly, too :)

its based off how much hair you have (and it sounds like you have A LOT!!!) IDK, its like well I can spend $20 for a pair of sneakers at payless.... or $100 on a decent pair of nikes.......
when it comes to putting chemicals in my hair (like a perm) I would base it off of reviews and not price....
I agree with nerdalicious..... I wouldn;t give them my business after them not being prepared and wasting my time
I'm very upset. I really hope they offer me a discount or something because that is just bad business right there... I wouldn't go back. Make an appointment next week somewhere else. They really don't deserve your business. Years ago I went to the Paul Mitchell School for cut, color and partial highlight. OMG they charged me per little tube of color and my hair is so thick. I walked out of there paying $200. I could have gone to a regular salon not a school.
I called the salon on base to cancel my appt, and I spoke with the manager. She said they just got new management and are trying to get everything re-organized, and offered to not charge me for my haircut, just my perm if I kept the appt, hmmmmmm, I'm debating. She was very polite on the phone and sounded sincerely sorry...

HOWEVER, when leaving Kristi, you would be very pleased with your hair and not have to have it "fixed" somewhere else within a week or two. Not to mention you could swing through starbucks to and from for coffee.
I just got my hair cut at the PX beauty parlor and I'm very happy with it. I don't remember the name of who did it, but it's perfect. As far as color goes, can't help you there.
Just because you pay less doesn't always mean that your experience or cut will be bad, just sayin.
Bloom in Joshua tree does a nice job, they are a little lower priced its 20 for a cut.. i cant remember the owners name.. i think Jana.. she does nice work and will take her time with you to make sure you like what she does :) its right of 29 highway in the main lil strip of JT with all of the little shops
Call Char's at 760-361-4438. They've got the best color product in the hi desert. They're the only ones with the Keune line. Tell her I sent you, Joni Daniel.
