This really only applies to those in the military but could someone give me information on Space A flights (I think that's what they are called). How can I get a ticket for one?

Google is your friend .... Everything You Want To Know About Space A Travel

nearest to here would be march afb. we were going to take one from there in january to san antonio, but we ended up leaving 2 days after that flight. u can google space a flights in march and a number will come up that u can call and they can give u a schedule for up to a certain number of days.. every base is different. one could tell us for 7 days, another 10, another 3.

wut does space travel do for u? Check the link posted 2 posts above ...

wut does space travel do for u? Well, space travel would allow you to travel to the moon and back, possibly to other planets or different galaxies. Space A travel allows you go get onto military flights traveling to a destination you are trying to go to.

is it in a commercial airplane??

MamaEmm --- 15 years ago -

is it in a commercial airplane?? My experience has only been flying overseas, but it is usually a military plane like a C-5. They are actually pretty comfortable once you get past the noise :)

*Ufa* --- 15 years ago -

do they have a bathroom?

MamaEmm --- 15 years ago -

Haha I am searching my brain and I can't remember! I would think...

MamaEmm --- 15 years ago -

Honestly idk how it works if the sponsor is stateside, I've only ever used it when my sponsor was stationed overseas.

I am actually in the Air Force, but my job was (im on terminal) patient movement, but there are certainly categories that take priority when getting onto the flight. Your best bet is to try to fly to bases that are frequent, and routine. If I am not mistaken, there has to be a 1:1 ratio for children to adults. Don't expect to move like a commercial flight. These planes almost NEVER take off of time, often times break, it is sometimes really hard to get onto these. I think there is a priority for family of deployed members. I would call and check it out. I only know the directory number to Hickam, HI base. 808-449-7110 (ask operator for the pax terminal) The folks at the terminal would be able to get into detail since my job was to deal with patients, not healthy folks. Hope I helped a little bit.

you can use Space A when your spouse is stateside. My hubby and i used it to fly cross-country last year. 1. Active duty person MUST be with you to fly. unless they are stationed overseas and you're going to see them. 2. No pets 3. flights are subject to cancellation at any time. we wound up having to buy last-minute commercial tickets to fly home the same day when our flight got canked. 4. Active duty person MUST be on LEAVE (ie no 96s) in order to travel. 5. There is a hierarchy to ticket availability. In this order: a)active duty on orders b)active duty c)family of active duty d)retired e)retired dependents If a flight fills up (and some do), then they take passengers in that order. There ARE bathrooms aboard the planes. They are much like commercial planes in that they have the same style of seating (except with military seat-covers! ooh rah!). there were no flight attendants on the flight i was on, but there may be for long international flights. there are baggage limitations and they differ from base to base and from flight to flight. you should generally be OK if you follow regular FAA regulations (especially since your flight might be canceled and you may have to travel commercial).

It all depends on what kind of aircraft you actually go on that makes it like a commercial flight. some are suppppeeeerrr loud! blahh
